Green Salon Certification Launches in Florida

The Florida Association of Beauty Professionals (FAB) has launched a new, industry-wide certification program that will allow environmentally friendly salons to demonstrate their commitment to the industry and consumers. The FAB PRO Green Conscious Salon Certification encourages salons to both decrease their carbon footprint and save money by reducing energy costs.

The FAB PRO Green Conscious Certification is intended to distinguish those businesses that are implementing procedures, technology, and practices that are eco-friendly. In order to become certified, a salon must meet the established criteria that include satisfactory completion of three core activities, which represent a minimum of best management practices and include communication, commitment, and waste reduction. In addition, salons must demonstrate successful completion of two additional optional activities and one salon-specific activity.
