NAILS Magazine recently added three more awards to our shelves. NAILS was honored at the Western Publications Association’s 55th Annual Maggie Awards on April 21, 2006.

It seems our September 2005 issue was the golden issue, winning Maggies for Best Health, Fitness, Beauty & Fashion/Trade magazine, Best Cover/Trade, and Best Color Editorial Layout/Trade. The cover and layout awards were for our fall polish preview entitled, “The Art of Polish.” These are the 12th, 13th, and 14th Maggies for NAILS.

The Maggies, also known as “the Oscars of the magazine industry,” received more than 2,000 entries representing more than 400 magazines. Eighty-five Maggies were awarded for editorial, design, and promotional excellence. Trade and consumer magazines published west of the Mississippi River or distributed only west of the Mississippi River are qualified for the awards.

The Western Publications Association (WPA) is a non-profit trade association working to advance the business of print and electronic magazines in the western United States. Now in its 55th year, the WPA bestows awards of merit to deserving individuals and companies whose work was deemed the best of the west in a wide variety of categories within the publishing industry.
