Bad news for salon owners looking to hire newly schooled techs. According to NACCAS Review (September-October 2001), the number of students enrolling in manicuring and nail technology courses is on the decline. Enrollment in NACCAS member schools was 17,501 in 1995, while this number dropped to 10,884 by 1999, representing a 38% decrease. Over the same period of time, barbering showed a 30% increase.
