Despite the fact that lifting is an all-too-common occurrence pinning down the cause can be tricky. Phylis Italiano a Team Creative member based in Sydney, Australia. Offers the following tips to try to minimize the problem or better yet, eliminate it altogether.

  • During prep ensure that you have thoroughly removed all signs of the cuticle from the nail plate using products and implements that work quickly and easily.
  • Use the correct mix liquid and powder. This is crucial for proper polymerization of the product and turn reduces lifting.
  • Ensure that you have no ridge of product along the lateral walls of the nail of cuticle line. The product should be flush with the natural nail.
  • Avoid filing your clients’ nail over open containers with product such as liquids or powders. Keep your brush stored flat and out sight until needed to avoid exposing it to dust.
