Modern opulence came to life in June as OPI launched its 2007/2008 Fall/Winter Russian Collection for nails and lips in a legendary Moscow venue. Famed for being a favorite of wealthy noblemen, Yar restaurant was mentioned in the novels of Tolstoy – and on this special night it heralded in OPI’s new colors. Over 250 people gathered for the event – among them editors from Russian Cosmopolitan, Glamour, InStyle, and Vogue, as well as NAILS and other professional beauty magazines.

The gala – which was coordinated by OPI’s exclusive Russian distributor, Verbena – included a two-hour presentation of new OPI products. Russian dancers in national costumes entertained, while OPI president and CEO George Schaeffer did his part by dressing in costume as the Tsar.

“In this elegant setting that so beautifully evokes Russia’s aristocratic past, the Russian Collection really comes alive,” said Schaeffer.
