After an absence of a dozen years, Rozanne Sehayik had only been back in the nail industry a few months when she was offered a chance to work as a nail technician at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s private club in Palm Beach, Fla. Rozanne began her beauty career 20 years ago in her native South Africa, but soon after took a break to get married and start a family. Last year; with the youngest of her four children in school, Rozanne, now a resident of Florida, returned to school herself to get relicensed as a nail technician. Two months after she graduated, she received a call from the school. Did she want to interview for a job at Mar-a-Lago? You bet.

Mar-a-Lago, explains Rozanne, was originally built for Marjorie Merriwether Post, who wanted to create the impression of a fairy tale castle. Now owned by Trump, the 18-acre oceanfront estate is enjoyed by about 500 club members. This past season’s entertainment line up included Jose Iglesias. The Beach Boys, and Tony Bennett, who performed there for members and guests.

The salon environment is magnificent, says Rozanne. “It’s decorated in pale yellow marble with gold-colored fixtures, and the windows are framed in dark wood, creating a very very and breezy feeling, Spa clients can relax in a beautiful red velvet pedicure chair that automatically makes them feel at home.” Of course, the in-house florist provides fresh flowers daily.

The most requested salon services are natural nail manicures and pedicures, with add-on treatments like paraffin, aromatherapy, and massage, she reports.

“I feel truly fortunate to have had this experience. As nail technicians, we offer such magnificent services and doing hands and feet is the crowning glory.”
