At Pecoraro Salon in Lockport, N.Y., owners Sam and Paula Pecoraro discovered that the best ideas are generated in just two minutes a day. Instead of the usual half-hour or hour-long salon meetings, the pair began holding two-minute meetings (see photo below) to quickly point out promotions taking place or to create new ones, just for that day. To expedite things, the owners of this full-service salon focus on a particular area, such as nails, or a part of the client visit that needs polishing, like remembering to give all clients business cards to pass on to friends. “These meetings have created the simplest, yet greatest management changes we’ve made in years,” says Paula."
