Ashley Crowe, more commonly known as nail artist extraordinaire Astrowifey, dreams up funky, contemporary designs and executes them in her Chicago-based home studio.

Crowe began doing nails in 2008 for her blog, Astrowifey, before getting licensed.

Ashley Crowe, more commonly known as nail artist extraordinaire Astrowifey, dreams up funky, contemporary designs and executes them in her Chicago-based home studio.

> Crowe is so passionate about nails that she lives and breathes them. Her nail studio is located in the front room of her Chicago home. Known mostly for “linear” art on natural nails, Crowe does offer pedicure services too.

Astrowifey is a fan of all forms of art. Various nail prints and ads hang in white frames around her studio.

> When she isn’t in her home studio, Crowe is traveling to be on set as a freelance editorial manicurist. In addition to working on ad campaigns and being published in the consumer press, she regularly does Lady Gaga’s nails.

> Crowe takes her love of nails to the next level by serving as editor-in-chief of Tipsy Zine, a yearly lifestyle nail art magazine.

> The name Astrowifey came from Urban Dictionary. She came across “Astronaut’s wife,” which described “a woman out of touch with reality, yet strangely attractive.” Crowe embraced the strangely attractive part, but altered the phrase a bit so that it more accurately reflected her independence.
