Nail technician Amy Grossi has a legitimate beef with the industry. In a recent letter to Nails, she writes, “I have noticed that many salons run advertisements with discounted prices available only to first-time clients. I understand this is an incentive to attract new business; however, it seems unfair for faithful regulars to be paying full price when someone new pays less.” To combat this trend, Grossi has introduced a frequent-client newsletter, called At Your Fingertips, that she puts together on her home computer. The informational bulletin is available only to regular customers and will soon feature discount coupons designed to thank her best clients for their continued patronage. After all, Grossi points out, regular clients are really the ones who keep us in business.
