When nail technician Sandi Swadley of Heidi’s Salon in Columbus, Ohio, completes a set of sculptured nails, she takes a #6 flat synthetic brush, dips it ill acetone, and gently wipes over the nail. “It leaves the nail shiny and shows any flaws that may need to be worked out of the nail,” explains Swadley. After polishing, Swadley uses the same brush and acetone to even the sides or to remove any polish from the cuticle. What’s more, says Swadley, you can also use this method to clean up and perfect the white tips of a freehand French manicure. “It’s easy, simple, and won’t hurt the nails,” she says. “My clients appreciate the perfection of their polish and the finish on their nails.”
