On the Road: Finger Bang, Portland, Ore.

East of the Willamette River in Portland, Ore., you’ll find Finger Bang, a local and not-so-secret spot known for its edgy style and amazing nail art.

Finger Bang is home to 17 extremely talented nail techs who divvy up their time between eight manicure tables and six pedicure chairs.

Creating my nails is the talented Asa Sieracki, a Portland native and gel nail art connoisseur.

The salon does not retail nail products; however, they do sell custom multimedia art from local pop artist Ace Troy.

Here is a close up of my manicure inspired by Pacific Northwest tribal patterns.

The walls of the salon are covered in vibrant graffiti art, and a few life-sized cardboard cutouts watch over the salon.

Finger Bang was named Best Salon Northeast by the Portland Fashion & Style Awards.
