Wrap systems have been around since the 1980s, but like acrylic dip systems, they have recently seen a resurgence in popularity, according to Americanails general manager Stephen Woolsey. Nail wraps are thin, durable materials such as fiberglass or silk that are applied to the nail for added reinforcement. Most wrap systems are applied with a combination of resin and activator (just like acrylic dip systems) and both systems result in a thin, yet extremely durable nail enhancement. Wrap systems have the added benefit of doing minimal damage to the natural nail and can also be a good fit for clients who are sensitive to acrylic enhancements. Americanails’ wrap kit includes Advanced Formula Resin, Super Fast Activator Spray, Sheer Strength Fabric, fabric scissors, professional tip assortment, dual shape nail forms, and an application and technique guide.
