Nail tech Joanne Sorbello of Stone Ridge Salon in Stone Ridge, N.Y., created four nail art looks for Artist Session fall 2017. The final looks were collaborations between herself, the hairstylists, makeup artist, and fashion stylist.

Replicate them using these steps:

Look 1: Gold Foil

1. Prep the nails.

2. Coat with OPI Infinite Shine.

3. Use an orangewood stic to place foils in three metallic shades onto the nail.

4. Top coat.

Tip: Sorbello chose the lacquer shade and foil colorings based on the model's skin tone. Always have several options on-hand to choose the colors that best complement the skin.

Look 2: Gold Sequins

1. Prep the nails.

2. Apply two coats of Morgan Taylor lacquer.

3. Use an orangewood stick to add two sequins to the ring finger only.

4. Top coat the nails, including the sequins with Seche Vite.

2. Apply nude polish and allow to dry.

3. Tear a makeup sponge and place in the clamp of a Young Nails Magic Wand. Dip the sponge in red lacquer and lightly press on the nails to add some color.

4. Use a striping brush to paint on black lacquer lines.

5. Top coat.

 Look 4: Metallic Negative Space

1. Prep the nails.

2. Place tape on the ring fingers to form two intersecting half-moons.

3. Use Zoya polish to accent nails. Alternate polish colors between nails and half-moon.

4. Remove tape and clean up nails.

5. Use a dotting tool to place single sequin in center of nail. Top coat with Seche Vite.

Tip: When doing nails for a photo shoot, keep in mind that outfits can be switched to get multiple looks from a single model. Sorbello created nail designs that were versatile enough to go with multiple wardrobe choices. Her use of metallics in particular, functioned as a neutral to give stylists many options.
