You switch out your nail color every week (or maybe two); but how long has it been since you updated the polish, er, paint, on your salon walls? If it’s been a while, the new year will be a great time to change up your salon’s decor.

And as we mentioned earlier this year, using low- or zero-VOC paints are the way to go when perking up your walls.

These paints contain little to no volatile organic compounds, which can cause short- and long-term health problems. Some possible side effects of VOCs are headaches, skin irritation, or cancer.

And although Benjamin Moore started making zero-VOC paints 15 years ago, colors were always limited because the colorants added VOC when mixed with the paint. With the release of its Natura line, however, that’s no longer a problem. Natura Interior Acrylic Latex is available in all of the company’s colors; that’s zero-VOC painting with almost 3,500 color choices. The line is on-hand now in Washington, California, Oregon, and Texas; it will be available nationwide come springtime.

So let’s get planning that new color scheme!
