Plantar fasciitis is a very painful and restricting ailment that results from an inflammation in the plantar fascia which is a band of connective tissue. This tissue runs from the ball of the foot to the front of the heel bone. This band of tissue is very important to stability because it supports the arch of the foot. When this tissue becomes inflamed, a condition called Plantar Fasciitis ensues.

There are different causes of this malady and the specific instigator for any one person can be difficult to determine. As people get older, the fatty tissue that pads the heal begins to break down and get thinner and thinner. When this happens the padding that we need to cushion the heal from jarring is lost and this can result in Plantars Fasciitis. The band of tissue known as the plantar fascia is always being exposed to tremendous amounts of stress.

People who utilize footwear that offers a minimum of support to the arch and inadequate padding for the heal might inadvertently be contributing to Plantar Fasciitis. People suffering from this condition can find it difficult to impossible to walk because of the severe pain. This pain generally travels back and forth from heal to arch. Placing weight on the heal and arch exacerbates the pain and thus sufferers generally find it difficult to continue working if this requires extended periods of time on the feet.

Doctors employ different types of treatment as well as recommending special shoes that provide an optimum of support. Stretching, shock-wave therapy, anti inflammatory medications are some of the things physicians might employ to help a person find relief from the pain.

Surgery is also employed as a final attempt when everything else has failed. Another method of treatment can be attempted through the services of a plastic surgeon. Plastic surgeons might administer botox into the inflamed tissue to help alleviate the pain. Practioners believe that botox can not only help with the symptoms but also help to correct some of the underlying causes. The price of botox of this particular treatment and it's benefits can easily be determined through an appointment and discussion with any of the plastic surgeons in your area. Some might have more experience in this particular area of the body and this type of treatment. Botox  might be the option that best meets the need of some individuals
