We love nail beds in all shapes and sizes, but, well, your client is her own worst enemy and may be mortified that her nail beds are “too wide.” Luckily, the nail style experts at CND have an easy fix. Straight from the fashion runways, the “slimline technique” has been used in Fashion Week shows for many seasons. The traditional way to slimline (as shown in the photo above, from the Monique Lhuillier Fall 2010 show) is to paint a slightly narrower swipe of color on a wide nail bed, not quite extending to the side edges of the nails. But we love the new adaptation of this technique even more (as shown in the photo below, from the Diego Binetti Fall 2011 show). For this untraditional slimline, CND education ambassador Kristina Estabrooks and her team painted models’ nails with Blackjack, then slimlined with tips coated in Bloodline over Raisin in the Sun. Now, if only losing inches off of other body parts was that easy.
