This month’s mother-daughter cover seemed fitting for cover tech and single mom Tiffany Greco. A nail technician at Hair Addix in Carlsbad, Calif., Tiffany juggles working in the salon, working in the lab at Creative, and traveling as an educator with being a single mom. “I am blessed to have such a cool kid,” Tiffany says of her 12-year-old daughter Leah. “My travel schedule is crazy but I have the support of my sister, my mom, and my grandmother — that’s four generations!

“The greatest thing about our business as nail technicians is the ability to make enough money to support your family on a schedule that can be flexible,” stresses Tiffany. “We are so fortunate to be in our business as working mothers. I was raised by a mom in the beauty industry, and it was great for me and my sister and brother. Moms can move their clients around to accommodate sick kids, soccer games, and band concerts and their clients get it because they are parents too.”

Tiffany says she tries to limit her weekend travel schedule for educating to two weekends a month. And sometimes Leah gets to go with her mom to trade shows. “She’s already a nail expert,” says a proud Tiffany, “She can tell a good nail from a bad one and I won’t even let her wear enhancements yet.”

For this month’s cover, Tiffany gave grown-up cover model Mia Crowe a beautiful set of pink-and-whites at a length that active moms can manage. (She also gave Jane Liivoja, our little cover model, a manicure.) “Sometimes the juggle between career and family is hard for any woman (or man) and yet it is very rewarding to come home from a great day in the salon and have a great evening at home with your child.”
