Oprah Winfrey made a 35-second video from her iPad that instantly changed the life of her longtime nail technician, Gloria L. Williams. Known as “The Footnanny,” Williams is the owner of www.footnanny.com, and the video, posted on August 14, had received 80,000+ YouTube hits and more than 7,000 likes on the Oprah Winfrey Facebook page at press time. The video has also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live (twice), Inside Edition (twice), and Huffingtonpost.com. Most companies that are named one of Oprah’s “favorite things” receive about six weeks’ notice; William had about six seconds, but she has taken her instant celebrity in stride.

The endorsement has taken Williams’ five-year business plan for www.footnanny.com and made it a present day reality. She now provides professional seminars and consulting for salons, nail techs, and small business owners, and has launched a Footnanny Soy Foot Cream Product Line. She has expanded her business by creating a top-level event team and begun to negotiate marketing packages with other companies. You can catch the video at www.nailsmag.com/footnanny.
