For clients who are hardcore about what’s in (or more precisely not in) their nail polish, two vegan-friendly polish lines caught our eye. LVX nail polishes are formulated without the use of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, and camphor. What’s more, the formula does not contain guanine (fish scales), silk, pearl dust, keratin, or carmine, making them vegan-friendly. Cruelty-free, LVX lacquers are heavily pigmented and many require only one coat.

Also richly pigmented, La Couleur Couture nail lacquers deliver couture-quality staying power without the use of harsh chemicals, says the manufacturer. Free from formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene, the polishes contain a protective UV inhibitor to reduce yellowing and brittleness. Sophisticated and urban-edgy, La Couleur Couture’s first collection offers 12 shades.

Both companies offer a base coat and top coat as well.
