When it comes to amazing nails, Lady Gaga may not have been Born This Way, but her nail tech Aya Fukuda did a top-notch job creating a set of almond-retto enhancements for the singer’s Aviva Stadium performance.

Unfortunately, not all 10 nails made it through the Dublin concert intact. One of the embellished black-and-gold nails must have fallen off during the show, as it was recovered by a crew member and listed for auction on Picollecta.com, an online picture sharing community for collectors. Via the auction, the nail sold for the jaw-dropping price of $13,000 (£8,500).

The winning bidder won the nail, plus a photograph of Lady Gaga on stage, clearly showing the star missing the acrylic nail from the little finger of her left hand and a second photograph showing Gaga wearing the same nails at the launch of her perfume in New York the night before her Dublin performance.

A letter of provenance from the seller says, “As I was about to start work I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum. When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail.”

We just hope Lady Gaga’s nail techs charge what they’re worth in the future — by our calculation, that’s $130,000 for a full set!
