Blueprint of a First Year

Intelligent Design

Last week, co-owner Dan (who, by the way, was ridiculously excited to be able to participate in person) and I met with our design team. This includes Lee Stucker, our contractor, Richard Best, our architect, and Jessica Nakata, our interior designer, to hammer out the design details.

We tentatively picked out some materials. We want concrete (stained and painted) for the staircase and some of the flooring, and teak for wall paneling. We also want to use stone throughout.

We discussed the color palette, which should be finalized very shortly. This also means we’ll soon be able to develop our logo, website, business cards, and printed menu of services. (Finally!)

One other bit of good news — our construction plans are just about finished and will be submitted this week. We should have our construction permits within six to eight weeks.
