Blueprint of a First Year

Banking on the Future

by NAILS Magazine | August 16, 2007 | Bookmark +

Dan, Nadine, and I have decided to plead our case to the banks to get a loan for the salon furniture and/or equipment. Our build-out is such a huge expense that we could use the extra help. I’ve been working on a presentation to take to the meeting, and I think we’ve got a compelling case.

In the meantime, we’re working on every aspect of the salon — from budgets to ensuring that everyone is on the same page. I want to make sure everything is done correctly the first time, so we don’t have to break down any walls later, literally or figuratively.

Salon M.O.M. Nadine is on vacation now, and I’m heading out of town as well. (I think we both realize we’re in the “calm before the storm;” as soon as we get the permit, we’re going to have to buckle down and stay here indefinitely.) Co-owner Dan’s overseeing everything. I’ll be back next week to report on my vacation and on the salon’s progress.
