About Judy

by NAILS Magazine | December 7, 2007 | Bookmark +

My name is Judy Lessin and I’ve been at NAILS for more than 18 years. (I started at NAILS when our publisher Cyndy Drummey was on maternity leave, so I keep track of my time here by monitoring her son Elliot’s birthdays.) I’m in charge of a hodgepodge of sections: Nails File, Business, Health, and My Other Life. I’m also the editor in charge of making freelance assignments. I’m particularly proud of the fact that so many of our freelance stories are written by nail techs (Thank you Michelle! Thank you Erin!). If you have an idea for a story you’d like to write (or a business tip you’d like to share), e-mail me.

What’s kept me around here so long isn’t, I confess, a profound love of nails (though I do appreciate the artistry involved in creating a really beautiful set of nails). What keeps me here — corny as it sounds — is you. Over the years I have been so impressed by the warmth, the caring, the skill, and the smarts demonstrated by all of you in this profession. I look forward to getting to know more of you personally in the coming months and years.
