Change Is in the Air

Here in North Carolina, Spring is in the air. Everything is blooming, beautiful, and changing. It is definitely a symbol of what's happening here at the salon. Change is in the air. We have some new employees, some more coming on board, and the entire salon game is changing. Change can be good and bad, depending on who it is affecting and how. Most people do not deal with change well. I am definitely one of those people who has a change allergy.

That is where Heather has helped tremendously. Being on the outside and not involved directly, she can see outside of the box. By pointing out the positives, and helping me negotiate through some of what I feel may be negatives, I feel the change has involved less drama than in previous situations. I've been on both sides of the fence before as a renter and an employee, so I'm taking it all in stride. With two small children, I have enough stress at home. The last thing I want to do is take time away from them involved in extra tax paperwork, supply ordering, and going to every marketing event. Being part of a team of employees, those duties fall on other shoulders, or are split between team members. Right now, that is a blessing in disguise.
