Beauty Blogs

by NAILS Magazine | May 1, 2008 | Bookmark +

I recently checked out an interesting blog put on by a girl from Cleveland, who provides up-to-date information on essentially every new polish that comes out. You might already know of it. It’s called All Lacquered Up: A Polish Fanatic’s Resource. The blog has lots of interesting articles and posts, but what struck me was the links to other beauty blogs. I was astounded by just how many there were.

When I mentioned this to one of my coworkers, she informed me that beauty blogs have become increasingly popular and more and more consumers are turning to these blogs for beauty advice on new products and techniques. Her point was reinforced in this interesting article from The New York Times about how cosmetic companies are now making more of an effort to stay on the good side of these beauty bloggers by giving away free product samples and sending them to swanky events. It’s kind of like guerilla marketing.

For techs, it seems like it’s now easier than ever to find interesting new opinions, insight, and advice from fellow techs around the world. Niche communities and occupations, like nail technicians, can now easily communicate and share their experiences about plying their trade in their own respective neighborhoods online. And it is only increasing the skill level and knowledge of techs across the world.

If you haven’t already, type in a quick Google search of “nail tech websites” or other similar key words and see what comes up. You can make excellent use of the information out there, and you’ll probably be just as surprised as I was to see how many sites there are.

Here’s a couple more nail tech sites to get you started:

Hooked-on-nails.com

Nailtechniciansecret.com

If you notice on the left side of this page, we’re starting to add links to other nail-related blogs. If you have a blog that has anything to do with the nail world or salon life, please e-mail Hannah. She’ll post the best ones on this very page.
