A Grand Soiree

I had a great time at the grand opening extravaganza for Krème de la Krème Nail Lounge last Friday evening. (I first discovered the salon a month after it opened — it was so cute that I knew I’d be back!) Co-owners Angela Tsigonoff and Gina Leago mailed me a save-the-date postcard a few weeks back, and I diligently invited a few of my girlfriends to join me. I was really excited because, believe it or not, I’d never been to an actual grand opening party at a nail salon, so I was pretty curious about what it would entail.

The party did not disappoint. The salon was packed with people (girls and guys, which impressed me), a DJ was providing music from the back of the salon, and champagne and snacks were plentiful (including the mini-cupcakes that are the salon’s food trademark). Plus, to go along with the salon’s Frenchie Marie Antoinette theme, several employees/employees’ friends dressed up with Marie Antoinette updos (à la the picture above). Amazing!

I thought it was great the salon went all-out for this event, especially since it definitely caught the eye of walk-by traffic. While I was there, I noticed several curious onlookers peek in to see what the festivities were about. Hopefully the marketing effort will bring the salon more business in the future, plus it’s always great to have a reason for a party!

Did you throw a grand opening party for your salon? How do you measure the success of such an event?
