I’d Rather Be Blogging

So here I am, sitting at the “Cyber Cafe” at the Stanford Medical Center. Stanford Hospital? What is this place actually called, anyway? Apparently I’m in the “hospital and clinics.”

This week has been a hectic one. I got home from HRTE San Jose late Monday night, worked like a dog (although the BF pointed out that that would mean laying around the house all day, so maybe that’s not an appropriate analogy) for three days, then left the house early this morning to drive my mom up here to Palo Alto for a visit to Stanford. (I believe I’ve mentioned previously that I’ve been spending a lot of time driving Mom to doctors’ appointments.)

*sigh*

Somewhere in this mess I managed to sit down and type up one blog entry this week. And, honestly, I wrote that down the old-fashioned way on paper during the HRTE class last Sunday (I hate the sound of snapping gum!), so I didn’t actually have to write it, just type it up.

We are waiting for Mom to get a CT scan, which can’t get done until 5:00, giving me a little time to sit around wondering if my editor is going to start worrying about me if I don’t get another entry to her today.

Unfortunately, aside from having been diagnosed with a tumor that might get her on Oprah, Mom is also a diabetic — and she hasn’t eaten anything today since we left Visalia at 8:30 this morning. This means that we got a reluctant go-ahead to grab something to eat while waiting for her CT scan. Which is how I found the “cyber cafe.”

So here I am, sitting at a computer in a hallway at Stanford, with nothing to blog about except blogging! And I so wanted to talk about HRTE! But alas, that post will require my being able to send along photos from the event, which, of course, are not on this computer.

I hope everyone else is having a fabulous, and profitable, Friday afternoon. Personally, I’d so much rather be doing nails.
