Salon consultant (and NAILS blogger) Bryan Durocher has suggested a fun way to turn clients’ enthusiasm and loyalty into retail sales. He suggests holding a “Pass the Santa” contest with your staff. Each time a staff member retails a product, a Santa figurine comes to their station or treatment room. Each time a product is sold by another staff member it moves with the next sale. Have a specific time to end the contest each day and whoever has the Santa at that time wins $10. Clients will buy product because they want their service provider to win the game, he says.
