Speaking of Germany

Did I tell you that I’m going to judge at the Beauty International Düsseldorf show this year? As the 2009 Liquid and Powder Champion, I’m required to step down from competition for one year, but I’m invited back to judge. What an honor. And I am very excited to go.

While I’m on the subject, let me tell you a little about the International Nail Championship. There are actually two, with day one being a gel competition and day two a liquid-and-powder competition. You can use tips or forms for either competition and the nails must be created using a cover pink on the nail bed. You must create perfect smile lines on both hands even though you will have to polish one hand with a red cream polish. And the judges have the right to remove the polish if they feel that perfect smile lines have not been done (Heh heh!).

They are salon-type nails and you have 2-½ hours to complete. It is an invitational event and you must be invited to participate, although there is no registration fee. And there is a catered lunch for models and competitors. Awesome.

Good luck to those of you who are going. I look forward to seeing you there.
