Competition Insider

Art, Art, and More Art

Ugh! OK, obviously art competitions are not my favorite. Some people live to do fantasy nail art, and work on it year round and pour every breath into it. They have vision and can translate anything into the most beautiful piece you’ve ever laid eyes on. And I congratulate and admire them for it.

But it just ain’t me.

I struggle to put an artistic piece together. And it’s not that I can’t paint or sculpt 3-D or mix colors, because I can. But I have to really search for inspiration, and then draw it out on a piece of paper.

When it’s finally time to make the piece, I still have to refer back to the pictures. It takes me so much time to do this and I like everything to be quick. I want to start on a flat painted nail art project in the morning and be done with it by dinner. Ha! I bet the judges are laughing at me now. Well, with about a month until IBS and three art turn-ins, I better get crackin’!
