Attention Salon Owners: Do You Want to Be on TV?

by NAILS Magazine | April 1, 2010 | Bookmark +
As I was canvassing the show floor last weekend at America’s Beauty Show in Chicago, I happened upon a booth for Bravo TV. The casting directors were there looking for salons for season three of “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover.” (Tabatha Coffey was all over the show — speaking to students, meeting and greeting other salon professionals, giving business building advice, and walking around with several large body guard-looking types.)

Anyway, I stopped at the Bravo casting booth to find out what they were looking for. I talked to casting director Peter Huntley, who was enthusiastic about finding dynamic salon teams who want Tabatha to help them take their salons to the next level. Obviously, they're looking for salons that need a turnaround and are receptive to it, but being reality TV you know they're also looking for dynamic personalities and a little drama!

Here’s a bit more information straight from Peter:

Now Casting the New Season of Bravo’s Hit Series “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover!”

Attention salon owners! This is your chance to have the tough and honest Tabatha Coffey come in, take over, and help you get your salon back on track!

Are you a salon owner who has always dreamed of having the most successful business in town? Is your salon ready for a stylish makeover? If you feel helpless, powerless, or just exhausted... it’s time to take a step back and let Tabatha take over!

Contact us if you are energetic, passionate, and committed to taking your business to the next level!

How to apply:

To be considered (or to nominate a salon), please go to: www.salontakeovercasting.com.

Casting teams will be traveling to the following locations:

Boston, Houston, the NY Tri-State area, San Francisco, and the greater Los Angeles area

You are encouraged to apply if:

1. You’re located near any of these cities
2. Your salon is at least 1,200-sq.-ft. (Bigger is fine.)
3. You have at least 5 employees.

I personally think it would be great to get a nail salon on the show. Tabatha is a hairstylist so I’m pretty sure they’re looking for full-service salons and day spas. But hopefully they can find a salon with a big nail department. You can sign up for your own salon or you can nominate another salon you think they should check out.

I talked to Peter today and he said they were looking to start visiting prospective salons as early as next week. So what are you waiting for? Fill out the application and send in your video right away. Make sure to tell Peter you heard about the casting call from NAILS Magazine and if you get selected, e-mail me so we can follow your story!

Good luck and break a leg!
