More Clocks

Friday mornings there is supposed to be a new entry posted. Which generally means that sometime on Thursday each week, I sit down and type up whatever industry-related thing has preoccupied my mind for the few days since the last entry. (Psst, in case you haven’t noticed, I generally do this twice a week.) Which isn’t difficult at all since, as I’ve mentioned, the portion of the Maggie’s-life-as-a-pie-chart that resembles Pac Man is the part that’s all about nails. So there’s always something industry-related occupying my mind.

The challenge is deciding which subject to write about.

Lately I have really be stressed out and even more easily distracted than my usual scattered, abstract, artist self. Which could be interpreted by the casual passerby as “on some sort of drugs.” But the point is, I’ve really been slacking on getting my blog entries done on time!

Of course, I don’t realize this at all until it’s 5 till noon on Friday while I’m unpacking my new jewelry display pieces, which will eventually be used to display jewelry which I intend to sell. (Remind me of that later — I intend to sell it. Not hoard it for myself.) This is just before I’m scheduled to head downstairs and across the street to meet the BF for our regular Friday lunch at Colima’s. (Mexican restaurant — totally deserves a mention.)

So there I am, standing in the middle of the salon, ripping open boxes and putting together my jewelry display pieces, remembering that I keep forgetting my blog, and putting together an idea for what to write about when it occurs to me that I probably won’t have a photo to go with this subject either. I was so excited when I got the new cell phone and joined the ranks of those who can snap a photo wherever they are, I thought that was going to make my editor’s life so much easier. Instead, I keep writing about subjects that leave me scratching my head and telling my poor editor that maybe she could find some clip art of ... whatever ... to go with my entry.

You may have noticed a lot of clocks. It dawns on me that I talk about time a lot. Or lack thereof. Or my inability to master. Or my innate lacking of concept of. And here I am, thinking up another blog that would go perfectly with a picture of a clock.

I’m sensing a very Salvador Dali motif running through my life.

So here’s a picture of my new jewelry displays instead. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to order some jewelry.
