About Holly

My name is Holly L. Schippers (pronounced skippers, think school). I have been a nail technician since the beginning of 1999. I became an Education Ambassador for CND in July 2004. I am married to an amazing man with a beautiful daughter and fun-loving son, and I live in Bussey, Iowa. My life is a constant attempt to balance family, education, nails, and a myriad of other activities.

My journey has been a long one and my goal has become to help others in the industry reach and surpass their goals and expectations. My beginning in the industry was a constant struggle and my dream is for others not to make my mistakes or to go without information that could make their careers easier. You may recognize my name from the Nail Notebook project that we just wrapped up mid-December 2010. I hope that your notebook is working for you. If you missed the project feel free to go back and delve into it at any time. Others may know me as the FingerNailFixer or “turtle girl” as my logo has always been a turtle polishing her nails to reflect my pace of doing nails as I’m “picky” (to say it nicely). My tagline is “Slow and steady for winning results.”

I would like to join you on your path to being the best nail professional you can be. Offering ideas, education, information, and suggestions that I hope you will find helpful. Feel free to ask questions at any time along the way. My wonderful fans on Facebook have started me off with a long list of things they would like to know or learn, so a huge thanks so much to them for a lot of what you will see in the beginning of this blog!

My hope is that you feel we are all part of a “nail family” regardless of what product we use, salon we work at, company we love, etc. The idea here is to provide mostly universal information that can help any nail professional. When an idea or technique is presented, always feel free to click on the Feedback link to comment and add ideas of your own, suggestions for solutions, or additional techniques.
