Blueprint of a First Year

Renovations to Begin Soon

We’ve had some new developments with our Princess Spa Parties and Princess Services. We rent an additional 600-sq.-ft. that is still warehouse space and not in use as part of the salon (it just needs floor tiles, a drop ceiling, and a couple of knee walls added). But in December we took the opportunity to acquire furnishings from a little girl’s spa that closed. The owner decided she wanted to focus on hair rather than the little girl spa services. We acquired a manicure bar and chairs, a pedicure bench and tech chairs, and the party pad furnishings so we can provide services to more girls at one time.

But the acquisition of new furnishings also means we need more space. So this month we will begin the build-out of the rest of the space we rent. One of our clients just upgraded her washer and dryer so we will inherit her old set for the new space. This helped out tremendously. We have a few male clients who have volunteered to donate their manpower to assist in getting the space ready for services. We will utilize the local Habitat Restore for materials such as floor tiles, drywall, doors, etc. And we have kitchen countertops and sinks from the old dessert cafe we used to own that we can use in the new break room. We are still on a tight budget so we are shopping around for deals on the materials.

There are lots of exciting things to come for 2011 and we are looking forward to a GREAT year!
