America’s Beauty Show Will Showcase Runway Nails

by NAILS Magazine | January 14, 2011 | Bookmark +

CND’s Jan Arnold knows a thing or two about fashion. She’s been pushing the marriage of nails and fashion for years. And thanks in large part to all of her hard work, nails are now a permanent fixture on the runways of many top designers.

And now, for the first time at a big beauty show, a nails-in-fashion show will be held on the main stage at America’s Beauty Show (ABS). (The show is March 12-14 at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago.)

On Monday March 14th from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Jan and CND, partnering with the International Nail Technicians Association (INTA), will present the latest nail and fashion trends on The Runway @ABS.

“The Shellac Fashion Fusion event at ABS will translate all the Spring 2011 runway news into real-way techniques that will keep every nail professional on the cutting edge,” says Jan. The CND co-founder and style director went on to say, “We’re so excited to unveil the latest manicure looks straight off the catwalk, as well as seasonal shades and 12 new Shellac colors to keep clients (from the trendiest to the most classic) satisfied.”

Tickets are $75 and in addition to the three-hour fashion show and hands-on learning, that also includes a new CND UV lamp, take-home products and a Spring/Summer Look Book.

Fashion Fusion will be followed by a special private reception for INTA members. You can get tickets online here.

Pretty exciting for a nail company to get time on the runway, where we usually only see hair demos. The INTA meetings are usually held in a classroom way off the show floor. I think this sounds like a great step forward for nails.

Are you going to America’s Beauty Show this year? Will you go to the Shellac Fashion Fusion event?
