A New NAILS Website

by Kimberly Pham | January 21, 2011 | Bookmark +
NAILS Magazine, sister publication of VietSALON Magazine, re-launched its website earlier this month with better navigation and a sleeker design. The redesigned website is a nail tech's best source for information and advice on the professional nail industry. The new site also makes it a lot easier to find the most relevant nails-related articles, nail art demos, salon photo galleries and a whole lot more.

A great thing about the new NailsMag.com is the inclusion of a section for Vietnamese salon professionals. Currently within the section is a digital version of VietSALON, our Vietnamese-written print magazine. Flip through the pages of previous issues of VietSALON online at www.nailsmag.com/vietsalon. Don't forget to e-mail me your thoughts on the articles and please send me your nail art for inclusion in future print and online issues!

Here are some of the new features and sections within www.nailsmag.com:

My Page
One of the best things about the new site is that you can register for your own My Page. If you see an article, tutorial, or photo gallery that you'd like to come back to, you can save it to your account by clicking on "Read This Later." Everything that you decide to "read later" will show up in your saved articles. You can also sign in with your Facebook account.

The same user name will get you into the Nail Art Gallery, an online nail art community where you can post your own nail art designs and view art from other artists.

Technique, Style, Business, Health
You can find articles on signature services, acrylics and gel under TECHNIQUE, salon design and fashion articles under STYLE, retail and salon management stories under BUSINESS, and nail disorders and ways to keep both you and your customers safe under HEALTH. These four main sections of the site are broken up into smaller categories to help you find what you're looking for.

Demos & How-To's
From nail art and specialized service tutorials to ways to use certain products, all step-by-steps are pulled from the various sections into this category, found under the MORE ON NAILS drop-down menu.

A NAILS Encyclopedia
What's an autoclave? Or hyperhidrosis? Find useful nail terminology in the new NAILS Encyclopedia. If there's a term you can't find, let the editors know at edtior@nailsmag.com.

Career Handbook
The digital flip-book of the Career Handbook is a nice walk-through of everything from trouble-shooting techniques and salon safety to ways to build your business, helpful tips for students and veteran nail techs alike.

VietSALON
I already talked about this, but I'm really happy about having a digital edition of our Vietnamese-written magazine. Make sure you send the VietSALON link to all of your Vietnamese-reading salon friends and family!

The editors at NAILS Magazine (and I helped, too!) have dedicated a lot of time and energy into making the new site as comprehensive as possible, creating a powerful tool in motivating, inspiring, and helping nail techs and salon owners succeed in this industry. So please take a look around let me know what you think, and what else you might want to see in the future on the website, in the VietSALON section, or in the magazine.
