Planning for Prom, Mother’s Day

by Holly Schippers | February 8, 2011 | Bookmark +

As I sit here trying to make up my mind on menu selection and pricing from prom, I realize it should have been done at least a month ago. Having been out of the salon for five years, I had forgotten how much pre-planning needed to be done all the time. Mother’s Day seems an age away, but now is actually the time to be getting that figured out and ready to go from a retail, service, and suggestion angle. Do I want to offer gift certificates packaged with retail for Mother’s Day, do I want to work extended evening hours to accommodate prom girls, the list goes on.

Lucky for me Millie Haynam has a great plan for the first half of the year all nice and blogged out at http://nailtalkradio.ning.com/profiles/blogs/year-planner-part-1 It seems like some of those months are so far away, but how many times do you think to yourself, "Wow this just snuck up on me!” That is how I’m feeling about prom right now placing an order for supplies lol. Avoid those surprise attacks from the holidays and make the most of salon revenue by planning ahead.

Just to throw some tech to tech in for fun, what are the rest of you doing for Mother’s Day?
