I’m getting a little excited about going to America’s Beauty Show in Chicago this weekend to the point of drawing a total blank as to what to blog about! I have a fabulous roomie lined up, a private Minx class scheduled, a gig at the NAILS booth, and a ticket to the Shellac and Fashion Fusion event. How could the weekend possibly get any better? Why if I could meet or see again some of you! Please venture by the NAILS Magazine booth (#4332) on Sunday to say hello. I would love to just shake your hand, give you a hug, talk shop, hear future blog ideas you might have, or even just bask in the presence of your passion for the industry. A show or networking event in person is such a revitalizing and rejuvenating experience. It fans the flames of your nail passion to keep them burning full force and prevent embers that could be blown away. The energy is indescribable and just so….you know…lol.
When you attend an event what are the things you look or hope for? Why do you go? What keeps you from going if you don’t make it? As an educator I tend to usually work a show or event and until attending Premiere in Orlando last year for fun, I had forgotten the feel of being on the other side. It is magnificent! While working is a whole other amazing experience, attending can be a feast for the senses that goes on endlessly. Just wandering around looking at the nails on the hands of attendees, listening to the shop talk of passersby, meeting industry companions new and old, is enough to make me happy. Then you throw classes and booths in on top of that and it is a glorious mix of nail scrumptiousness to be reveled in and absorbed!
Oh my, how to do my own nails for the show? Do I wear what I have on now (pictured) as it is only a week old or do something new? Aah the excitement and challenge of thinking of something new that would be worthy of my fellow nail professionals. Can’t present myself at the NAILS booth with blah nails, right!?! Well would you look at that, guess the blog came together of its own accord, hope to see or hear from you soon.
