A Robot That Does Nail Art?

Have you guys seen this? It’s a surgical robot doing a nail art design on someone’s actual fingernails. The da Vinci robot is remotely controlled by Dr. James Porter, medical director of robotic surgery at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. The surgical robot has been FDA-approved for various surgical procedures since 2000.

The nail art is a pretty cool party trick, but I don’t think you guys have anything to worry about when it comes to losing clients to a robot. It costs about $1.3 million, plus a few hundred thousand dollars in annual maintenance fees. And it’s only as talented as it’s controller…
