Stop-Motion Animation on a Fingernail!

by NAILS Magazine | July 27, 2011 | Bookmark +

Yesterday my brother e-mailed me a link to this cool new Kia commercial. It was made to show off the Picanto’s features via stop-motion nail art. (And it just might be the first time stop-motion technology has been used on fingernails.) The small, brightly colored car is designed with the female client in mind, maybe that’s why they chose to showcase the car on fingernails.

According to the ad itself, 1,200 bottles of polish were used and a team of nail techs spent 25 days (and nights) painting 900 nail tips to create the animation. Two hours per nail! That’s some detailed work.

We think it’s super creative and really cool.
