Beauty for Good: Dr. Paula’s Skincare Supports Medical Missions

by NAILS Magazine | September 26, 2011 | Bookmark +

Dr. Paula Dhanda isn’t your ordinary physician. A surgeon, she lives to help her patients in Lake County, Calif., but she’s also devoted to missionary healthcare in some of the most destitute places on earth. Through W.H.Y. Mission, her nonprofit organization, Dhanda has been teaming up with other healthcare professionals to provide quality medical services for impoverished patients, from the recent victims of the Haiti earthquake to the most poverty-stricken people of Chad in Central Africa. And what she’s found is that this work has become her passion — albeit a cause that comes with high costs. In response, she’s now selling Dr. Paula’s Skincare, a high-quality product line that’s designed with both skin care results and meaningful fundraising in mind.

“With mission trips starting at $25,000, I’ve been considering many fundraising avenues,” says Dhanda. “The skin care line is a sustainable solution because it addresses many challenging skin care conditions while making money to support an extremely worthy cause. Our customers feel great knowing that 100% of the proceeds help people who are in need of the most basic medical care.”

Capitalizing on the expertise of a professional esthetician and Dhanda’s own medical background, Dr. Paula’s Skincare products deliver powerful solutions, fighting everything from acne to aging. Working to revitalize and protect even the most delicate skin, the products are sold at www.DrPaulaSkinCare.com — a new website that’s devoted to the product line and the crucial purpose behind it. Here you’ll find all the skinny on cleansers, wrinkle reducers, moisturizers, and more. You’ll also find intriguing pictures, stories, and information related to W.H.Y. Mission and its volunteer medical trips.

“With plans in the works for a medical mission trip to South Asia, we’re putting great faith in the success of the Dr. Paula’s Skincare collection, knowing that every penny earned is a win-win for all. In this case, the cause for healthier complexions truly helps people who are struggling to remain alive due to a lack of basic medical care,” says Dhanda.
