ISSE 2012: Snakeskin Pedi

by NAILS Magazine | January 31, 2012 | Bookmark +

Terri Silacci, the nail tech who made the snakeskin nails famous last year when they appeared in Vogue magazine, was at ISSE Long Beach this year giving editors her famous pedicure. I was lucky enough to score one of the coveted time slots to get my toes done and I couldn’t be happier with my custom-colored snakeskin pedi. Terri, whose Nail Candy Lounge is inside Euphoria Lounge Salon & Spa in Monterey, Calif., has been in high demand ever since debuting the reptilian look.

Since I had yet to try out the snakeskin look, I opted for a brown/natural version. She mixed her own colors using a combination of Sparkleyez new mix-it-yourself Spectra Nail System gels and OPI GelColor. She also added gold leafing to enhance the look. (Sorry the picture of my nails isn’t great…it’s hard to take a picture of your own foot.)

I look forward to seeing some of the cool new designs that Terri’s working on for the next cool style.

(And if you're interested in seeing a step-by-step for the snakeskin look, we have both real and synthetic application demos on our site.)
