I agree, client events are a very fun way to let clients see what your salon has to offer. We host several events a year at our salon. We always host an event for our salon anniversary. That has come to be a great time to not only celebrate another successful year in business but to continue to encourage its growth. For our anniversary party we always offer a sparkling non-alcoholic beverage and we have had several different eateries in town help with the food. We have on several occasions paired up with a local catering service and this has been very successful to mutually advertise our services. The clients have simply loved the event. We also have included a silent auction at some of our anniversary parties and donated the funds to the local cancer center. It only makes sense to give back to a community that has given us such support.
Our anniversary is not the only party we host; we also host makeup parties twice a year. They have been very helpful in promoting our makeup line. We generally do this to coincide with the spring and fall collections being released and use it as an opportunity to introduce them to our loyal clients. At these parties we provide simple finger foods as well as beverages. For the makeup parties we generally keep the number of guests smaller so that we can make sure everyone is able to try the new colors.
We also try to be involved in community events at least a couple of times a year. I have volunteered for a couple of events providing glitter tattoos ( I am also a Mehndi artist) as part of a YWCA outreach program to young girls in the community. We have also been involved with a local theater for their grand opening and offered custom-made hair ornaments and costume eyelashes to their patrons as well as providing the hair and makeup for the servers at the event. That was quite a fun event to be a part of. We generally have a great deal of fun at these community events and it always gives the salon great exposure.
We are currently planning this year’s anniversary. It will be a very fun and successful night I am sure.
