Here I am with
Hand & Nail Harmony's Thao Nguyen (right) at the Gelish booth. She showed me her collection of some of her colorful work using Gelish gel-polish.
Thao also created the galactic star-studded art on her nails. (She might have used the term “polka dot” to describe them, but I see a whole galaxy!)
Here are her steps in creating her nail art:
Step 1. Start with Gelish Foundation Gel. Cure. Apply Deep Sea blue for the nail's background. Cure.
Step 2. Use a makeup sponge to sponge in Sheek White diagonal to the nail plate. Cure.
Step 3. Use a makeup sponge to sponge in Sugar Daddy blue diagonal along a line above the Sheek White.
Step 4. Use a makeup sponge to sponge in You're So Sweet, You're Giving Me A Toothache pink along a line below the Sheek White. Cure.
Step 5. Use a dotting tool to dot on a variety of small white dots with Sheek White to give it that galactic feel.
Step 6. Using a makeup sponge, sponge in Grand Jewels, a glitter-infused gel-polish, for a more reflective look. Cure.
Step 7. Apply Gelish’s Top It Off Gel Sealer. Cure.
Step 8. Clean the nail with Gel Cleanser. Apply cuticle oil to finish the look.
