Plug Your Accomplishments on Social Media

I agree Jill. Posting your accomplishments on your salon website or Facebook page is a great way to keep clients and potential clients updated on all of the education your service providers take and are involved in. The Hair Company definitely does a wonderful job doing just that. We at Misbehaven have done a similar thing with our salon Facebook page. In it we post pictures of trainings we have in the salon and a group photo if possible with the educator. Our clients love to see what we have been up to and see what new services we may be offering. We also post pictures of great hair or nails that we have done using those new techniques.

In our case, for all of our social media uses, we use Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest for the salon itself. We are in the process of revamping our salon website and we are including many of the things that we have talked about loving on our favorite sites. We are going to have a place to talk about certifications and classes that we have taken. We are even doing some short video clips that answer commonly asked questions about hair, nails, and skin. I can’t wait to see the finished product and begin really implementing some of the cool features we have seen on other sites.

We also partner with a local photographer for a blog. She or a friend get services and blog about their experiences with it. This has really been a fun way to see the service through the client’s eyes. She also has interviewed all of the service providers about themselves and their professional goals, and this has been posted to our Facebook page. Her blog has been an avenue for us to talk about our training experiences. For instance she has interviewed me about my experiences competeing and also traveling to China. She has also talked to some of our other staff about their classes or training that they have taken, like one of our estheticians recently went to New York for an in-depth training for makeup application techniques. The blog has been a really neat way for out clients to find out about some of the new things going on with us.

Whenever you have something new to share with the masses remember that you are not just limited to word of mouth. Blog, pin, tweet, post, or Facebook it to really keep your clients in the know.
