Blueprint of a First Year

Q & A: How do I get started?

by NAILS Magazine | September 14, 2012 | Bookmark +
I too have a yearning to open up a business salon (in Croatia). I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks you can share given your vast experience? I would like to use OPI or CND products and I'm not sure how to handle the marketing aspect (outside the square style).

My business partner and I are young (25) and inexperienced, so really any tips you may have would be incredibly helpful.

Thank You for taking your time (and energy) to read this.

I would suggest you look around for spaces to rent (even if you are not ready) just to get a feel for what you need and what the costs are. Then I would do a budget plan on what it would take to open a small salon. List everything from purchasing products & equipment to signage, phone, utilities, etc. That is what we did and we stayed in our budget and purchased equipment when we had the money so we did not go into debt as we build out clientele.
