Dawn Doan: Creativity with Nail Art

by Kimberly Pham | December 28, 2012 | Bookmark +

Instead of using the bubble technique as seen on our November/December issue of VietSALON Magazine, Dawn Doan from Just For Nails in Stockbridge, Ga., gave a client her own glitzy twist by using glitter acrylics instead of gel-polish. She also separated the colors with black nail polish for more distinction between colors.

A nail tech of over seven years, Doan loves nail art. From acrylic to soak-off gel to gel-polish, she stays busy with a dedicated clientele and weekend walk-ins. Some of her clients even bring in their dresses for prom and for other occasions so that she could help them create unique nail art styles to match.

Doan is also inspired by YouTube videos and nail art online, and posts many of her own designs on her salon’s Facebook page. She is also known to help other nail techs who work in neighboring salons when they have questions about techniques and she does so freely. “We need a little more motivation in our nail industry and it makes me happy to see nail techs and salons doing well,” she says.

Here are four more of her designs, just in time to celebrate the new year.
