Neutral nails are a classic and a perennial hit on the Fashion Week runways. Neutral doesn’t always have to mean skin-tone shades though. A successful set of neutral nails can truly enhance and complement a clothing ensemble. Joy A. Johnson, China Glaze’s lead manicurist for the Tadashi Shoji FW 2013 Collection, described the show’s nails — which were done in China Glaze Dandy Lyin’ Around polish, hand selected by the designer — as an “airy shade with light dustings of sparkle, like fresh snowflakes falling from the sky.” Having led this show for several seasons, Johnson knows Tadashi never disappoints with the beautiful gowns and fashions. The nails, she stresses, must serve as the perfect complement.
To get the look:
1. Shape and buff the nails with an IBD White Padded File and an EZ Flow Sand Shark II Pro Buffer.
2. Apply two thin coats of Dandy Lyin’ Around.
3. Apply the quick-dry top coat Seche Vite.
4. Lightly spray the nails with China Glaze Fast Freeze Quick Dry.
Dandy Lyin’ Around is part of the Avant Garden Collection, which will be released in March 2013.
