March (Manicure) Madness Winners

by NAILS Magazine | April 5, 2013 | Bookmark +
With the Final Four playing tomorrow and the Championship Game on Monday, NCAA March Madness is captivating fans.

Like any fan-favorite event, we asked to see your nail art designs for the occasion. We received tons of submissions for our March Mani Madness nail art contest and are excited to announce the winners today.

Each winner will get a Red Carpet Manicure Pro Kit, including the coveted professional LED light, and the collection of Nail Art Kits.

The winners are...

1st Place: Diana Bartlett, A.K.A. The Polish Hoochie
"Reekem Christmas from Syracuse was my inspiration. This mani was to celebrate Syracuse making it to the Elite 8. Now they are headed to the Final Four!"
I love her creative adaptation of a French manicure. The basketball nets translate so well onto the nails, plus I like the mix of individual nail looks that create a cohesive theme. Diana lists the products she used to create this manicure in her blog post about it.

2nd Place: Bobbie Taylor
"The inspiration for this design are the basics of March Madness, the basketball and the net!"
The glitter French in the basketball-themed color combo is a slam dunk. And I like the use of the accent nail on each hand.

3rd Place: Haley Behnke
"A sporty, but girly design in pink, black, and white dedicated to the ladies who love March Madness."
I love the clarity of the hand-painting, plus I think the pink really works. My favorite of these nails is the sideways net. Fishnet is a summer apparel and nail trend, and, based on this design, basketball-net works equally well!

Congratulations to our three winners! Thank you to everyone who entered and to Red Carpet Manicure for this great idea and for the amazing prizes!
