Blueprint of a First Year

Entering the Marketing Realm

Holy canolis, I'm a nail salon OWNER! Boy, how my to do list has gotten longer. My salon has been open for almost three weeks. The response has been great. My location is on a very busy street in town and, although I've been in the industry almost eight years, being a salon owner is totally new -- especially since I'm by myself.

My grand opening is slated for June 22. I'm thinking of calling it a "Sip and See". I want to give everyone a chance to come check out the salon and see all of what The Purple Pinky is about. I've opted out of working that day as I think it will be too hard to work and meet/greet people. I have some cool door prizes -- all purple, of course -- to give away.

Since I've always worked in a salon, I've never felt it necessary to market myself. Social media has always been my go-to if I needed to fill my book quickly for the day. Now that I have my own place, I feel marketing is a vital tool in bringing in new clients, people who haven't even heard of me. I need help on that front. I want to do things that are unique and different.

I would love to hear of all the types of marketing tools that you guys have used to help build your business. I'm open to all ideas!
